Ryan Psychotherapy Services
Counselling in Essex
"My aim is to enable people to
enable themselves, guiding them to a better life and demonstrating how many emotional issues may be overcome. What I
have come to realise is that when intervention is provided in a safe
place there is hope for genuine positive change to take place…"

"During my time in practice I have seen many
people walk through the door feeling as
 though their thoughts and feelings controlled them, during sessions we work
 as a team. I introduce the concepts of positive change; education on how our brain works and what each person can do, at their own pace to get the best of themselves and to feel safe again."

About Fiona...
There are times in all our lives we come up against difficult experiences I  wanted to find a way to offer support when life feels overwhelming. I had therapy at such  a time in my life and the experience was life changing it showed me the importance of emotional support with a therapist who supported me unconditionally.

I decided to find out more about this profession, which led me to take a Level 2  NCFE Certificate for Counselling Skills, from there I enrolled onto a Degree course, three years later I gained my Bachelor of Science degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy;

During my degree I spent an extensive period at a charity for counselling and psychotherapy in Grays, Essex dealing with anxiety disorders; depression; Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD); Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other emotional related disorders.

Over the years I have attended a range of training programmes:
  • Safeguarding children
  • Grief encounter and working with bereaved children
  • Neglect Awareness
  • Mentoring Training
  • Compassion Focused Therapy Training – with Prof. Paul Gilbert
  • Mindfulness and Meditation with the British Mindfulness Institute (BMI);

When qualifying with my degree I began a private practice Honey & Ryan based at David Lloyd – Gidea Park (2012); Honey & Ryan moved to Upminster in March 2014, due to my business partner leaving in June 2016 I decided to take the leap of faith and keep the practice going, on the 1st July 2016 I changed the name to Ryan Psychotherapy Services.

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and
Psychotherapists (BACP) and registered on their Proficiency Register.
